Dr. Farah Rivera Snyder joined the Jasper OB GYN family in August 2013. Born and raised in Valparaiso, Indiana, she remained in Indiana for her undergraduate training at Indiana University in Bloomington. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and minor degrees in Business, Math and French. She then attended the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, where she received the honor of being inducted in the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
After residency, she joined a private practice at the Detroit Medical Center’s Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital. She served as a board member for the multi-disciplinary Breast Program Leadership Group, which helped the hospital acquire its prestigious national breast center accreditation. She also served as a preceptor for medical students from a local college.
Dr. Farah Snyder values the importance of health care prevention, especially with screening for breast and cervical cancer. Her interests include obstetrics, vaginal surgery, urinary incontinence, adolescent gynecology and family planning.
Dr. Snyder lives in Jasper with her husband, Dr. Michael Snyder, and their son, Everett. Dr. Michael Snyder, who is originally from Jasper, is a gastroenterologist and opened his practice in August 2013. When not at work, Dr. Farah Snyder enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, going to the Kentucky Derby, traveling, volunteering and baking.
